Tom Yum is inspired by its namesake Thai soup dish. It definitely smells more drinkable than edible, but it has recognizable Thai cuisine elements in it.
First of, you’re hit with a huge dose of lime. Lime is the strongest component in the opening aided by lemongrass. Its in general a really citric opening, but it has some underlying earthiness or woodiness.
It has a hint of an oldschool soapy masculine scent, perhaps with coriander adding a spicy tinge. it’s a nice twist on a citrus scent; not as inventive as Prin’s Salted Green Mango, but still very interesting if you’re looking for a lime-citrus scent that doesn’t smell like any other.
Tom Yum is wonderfully invigorating, zesty. It’s not spicy as in peppery, but more so like a ginger can give something a kick. I never had actual Tom Yum soup, but it does have a gourmand Thai tinge to it; you could picture this in a curry dish as well, without it becomes weird to wear as a perfume.
It goes a tiny bit too far green herbal to be 100% to my taste, but that’s forgiven; great scent and it will cut right through high heat.
