‘Whether you’re choosing to go out or have an intimate night inside: Tipsy Tuberose is your flirty, versatile companion for every moment, both day and night. Confident and expressive, the fragrance embodies sensuality without ever crossing into vulgarity. A surprising, sensual blend of carnal, creamy tuberose and Irish whiskey combine vintage charm with contemporary allure. Perfumer Meabh McCurtin, an emerging talent, has innovatively composed Tipsy Tuberose with scent notes that are proven to positively affect feelings of seduction and confidence when worn. Tipsy Tuberose opens cheerfully with orange blossom water and an intriguing contrast of spicy pink pepper and balsamic tonka bean. Luxurious white flowers, with tuberose taking the main stage, are beautifully balanced by oak, vetiver and Davana oil. Lastly, to top Tipsy Tuberose off, the scent is infused with the rich aroma of whiskey, transporting you to the ambiance of an old, nostalgic bar, where time seems to stand still. Simply enjoy an Old Fashioned, an evening without worries, and the thrill of the night full of mystery and temptation.’ – PerfumeLounge

Tuberose is the note that keeps on growing on me, although many tuberose fragrances are still a bit too ‘demanding’ of a wear for me personally. I tend not to love the strong bubblegum facets when its done in a ‘designer’ way or the overly indolic ones, but the greener brighter ones (like Frederic Malle Carnal Flower) and the sweet ones (like Buterbaugh 1947 Dahlia). Tipsy Tuberose falls in the latter category.

Boozy, sweet, woody with the tuberose being prominently there, but not necessarily in a powerful way. It is bubblegummy quite a lot to me, but here it works well with the darker and mature surrounding notes. The booze is well-balanced and doesn’t give me that ‘intoxicated’ feel that can get a little nauseating during a wear (nor do the white florals give off that vibe), which I think often comes down to e heady, heavy sillage. Instead, the florals feel more transparent and easier going, without smelling too light or minimal in Tipsy Tuberose. In that regards, the naming seems apt; tipsy, rather than drunk; rather sophisticated actually.

Focused enough on the tuberose, to probably be a no-go for people who don’t enjoy the note at all, but kept in check enough to be a good entry point or likely surrounded well enough by other notes to be worth the try, even to those who are weary of tuberose. Especially with the woodiness coming through as it dries.

I think it’s up there with the best tuberoses that I’ve tried and this is my second favorite Annindriya after Orris Soyeux on first impression for sure.
