AMBERGRIS ACCORD
‘An elegant chypre fragrance, Tendresse D’Automne is truly a tribute to the classic. Dry and powdery iris, together with sublime notes of violet, rose and ylang-ylang, evoke the thin whiffs of nature in early autumn. Wrapped with sensual hints of sandalwood and musk, the concoction is elevated with contrasting scents of vetiver to convey a unique quality. It’s extraordinary. It’s seductive. It’s à la mode.’ – Tobba
This was the Tobba that I was most excited to try after Rose On The Shore. And I did like it a lot.
Soft, very white musky/aldehydic sandalwood and iris with a floral tinge. This wears in the same broad style as a Lorenzo Villoresi Musk, perhaps even more on the clean side.
You instantly picture fresh white linen when you smell this. It’s very cozy, with the iris adding some earthy, savoury warmth and I think its mostly the ylang-ylang adding a fitting, subtle sweetness.
As someone who loves sandalwood, iris, rose, this is right up my alley. I’m on the fence about the amount of white musk here; I think I’d enjoy it even more if it was a bit warmer in tone. That being said, it’s beautiful, soft and hard to go wrong with.
Definitely my second favorite along with Rose On The Shore.
