Tanagra is another great iris from Maison Violet. The note shines in almost all of their perfumes, with Nuee Bleue being the most focused and vintage-y iris to me and Tanagra being next in line as a fresher take on the note.
Tanagra adds freesia and pear to the iris, making for a sharper, ever so slightly fruity and cool iris. I definitely get some warmth from the rooty, carroty elements that the iris has here, but overall it’s pretty bright. Not as refreshing or sharp as for example Gallivant Bukhara, which also pairs iris with pear, but it’s in that ballpark.
Tanagra comes across as a somewhat simple scent compared to some of the others from the house, but it’s very comforting and cozy to wear.
