‘Sorting through my diary has brought back a plethora of fond memories of my visit to Zanzibar. It had the most exquisite, powdery, white sand beach I’ve ever laid foot on. I took countless dips in the shimmering, warm, turquoise waters, and the sunset encounters were nothing short of breathtaking.’ – Memoirs of a Perfume Collector
Tales Of Zanzibar was my least favorite of the original 3 releases from this house; however, I can see this being the most mass-appealing and popular one easily.
It’s a super fruity scent, one of the more fruity fragrances I’ve come across. I get a mixture of something akin to mango and maybe even a banana drink in the opening. It’s engulfed in a minty fresh breeze, which to be honest, is needed in my opinion. The fruits are a bit overwhelming; it’s not a fruity hint, but a full-blown cocktail. A thick one too, not watery or ozonic.
You get a tropical tinge, but I wanted this to be lighter and fresher. Even with light spraying, it’s quite a lot for high heat and the extrait concentration makes it rather heavy. If you’re looking for a strong performing fruity (mango-esque) scent though, this is worth a look.
