Tabac Doré is unfortunately my least favorite of the Bortnikoff fragrances that I’ve tried so far. A sweet barnyard opening, but combined with a slightly acidic, very dry tobacco (I don’t smoke, but it reminds me of shag or rolling tobacco). There’s a patchouli-like chocolate tinge at first, which is the element I like most. Then I imagine a Middle Eastern flair to this, as the spices come through. No cumin is listed, but it smells a bit like a savory cumin to my nose. It’s extremely dry, with a pungent airy vibe. A pass for me when smelled up close, although in the air it’s more forgiving, but still not suited for my taste.
