In an attempt to get around to using more of the samples I had waiting at home, I decided (ill-adviced) to spray 8 Prin Lomros fragrances on skin all at once (I do have a lot of skin) and make shorter reviews for them.
Honestly, I don’t think that the majority of Prin’s fragrances are as eccentric as some people would have you believe (of course, with notable exceptions, like Sombre). This Sweet Muskmelon is definitely one of the most intriguing and strangest fragrances even coming from Prin though. It’s… caramelized melon?
A strange sensation indeed. You get the milky, sweet consensed (coconut) milk, brown sugar and honey sweetness. Mixed with a subtle fruity melon scent. After reviewing about 1900 fragrances and having smelled significantly more than that, I can rarely say: ‘I’ve never smelled something like it before.’, but that’s definitely he case for Sweet Muskmelon. At least for the first half of the wear.
It grows into more of a biscuit-like, rather gourmand-leaning combination, with the florals and fruitiness taking a backseat on my skin. I mostly get salted caramel from the base; quite salty, bordering on salty liquorice at times, but definitely more vanillic, honeyed, caramelized still.
Is it a favorite? Not really, but it works together better than I expected and it’s a fun, quirky, gourmand lactonic fragrance. This fragrance also performs very well on my skin; with loud, noticeable projection that I myself kept smelling.
