Sunshine Woman used to be my favorite from the women’s releases. It’s since been passed by Epic 56 (& Epic Woman) for me, but it’s still one of the best Amouage fragrances on the market.
Sunshine’s name can be a bit misleading. Although there is definitely a fruitiness here that works like a ray of sunshine in the composition, the overall scent profile isn’t exactly Summery to me at all.
Instead, Sunshine Woman combines that peachiness from osmanthus (which on it’s own has a dry, leathery, smoky facet) with a soft tobacco and bitter sweetness.
It has an aromatic vanilla, with bitter almond. A hint of green, but mostly sweet, fruity and tobacco-ish. It’s not a full on tobacco scent and comparisons to Triumph of Bacchus for a fruity tobacco are a bit overstated in my view.
Sunshine Woman is more a tobacco blossom with a long-lasting osmanthus scent. The added sweetness makes this feel more like an Autumn/Winter fragrance in the air to me, although up close the fruitiness is more prominent and it feels more sunshine appropriate.
