‘The midnight sun that never sets in the north. A golden veil sheltering the endless white plain.’ – Lydeen Parfums
Sun Veil was the Lydeen that I picked blindly for PR, as possibly ‘safest bet’. This is half true, but to my surprise, I definitely liked Horsika Blue more.
Sun Veil opens as expected; Summery, orange and orange fruity and light florals. It has a pretty strong tangy quality from ginger.
I think it opens a bit sweeter than the notes may let on and this becomes more and more true after the opening. To my nose, it grows pretty sweet, but still with that ‘Sunny’ vibe to it. Somehow I was reminded multiple times of the scent of pear.
What I didn’t love is the texture. The opening has a sparkling side, but after a while, it becomes dry. Not fully powdery, but the dryness takes away from the Summery and citrussy feeling a bit and so does the sweetness. I would’ve preferred it less sweet personally.
Overall, pleasant, but not the most exciting scent and less so as time goes by, making it a middle of the road option for me.
