This is a re-release and reformulation of Sun Song (2019).
‘It is a fragrance filled with light, where the notes explode and reveal their inner nature’ – Jacques Cavallier
Unfortunately, I don’t remember the original Sun Song (2019) that well. I tried it right around the time that it was discontinued; I did wear and review it, but I mostly remember the citrussy aspect from it and it didn’t make an impression on me at all. I have grown to like the Louis Vuitton collection more and more over time and I may have underestimated Sun Song at the time… that being said, I’m quite confident to say that Sun Song (2025) is a rather different take.
With the 2025, it feels way heavier on the orange blossom than I could recall; this is like a full-on orange blossom fragrance, with a lot more sweetness added. Again, I don’t really ‘trust’ my old, short first impression of the original, but I definitely don’t recall Sun Song being this floral or this sweet back then.
The 2025 Sun Song has the typical, airy, sharp orange blossom and citrus zestiness at first, but instantly grows smoother underneath, even bordering on a creamy vanillic, sun-tan lotion vibe. The combination has that body lotion or shampoo aesthetic.
Admittedly, this is a beautiful, bright, vibrant orange blossom. Up there with my favorite orange blossom notes actually, but those tend to be a tad boring to me. It’s not as full-on sweet as Art Meets Art Like A Virgin Unplugged, but sits in between that and the average/common basic orange blossom scents. Due to the creamier, smoother wear, I much prefer it over somewhat similar smelling scents (Kayali Marrakesh In A Bottle comes to mind for example).
Overall, a really solid fragrance, but honestly, nothing that makes me want it or get excited for it either. Out of all the fresher Louis Vuitton’s, Sun Song is still not among my favorite options.
