State Of Mind based their concept around different teas (which they also sell) and my favorite from their line on first impression was Spontaneous Generosity.
It’s the most gourmand fragrance in the State Of Mind line, so it became obvious quickly that it would suit my taste. Mostly, this one is defined by a thick milky sweetness.
There’s fig adding to this oily, milky texture, resins, coumarin, caramel and a load of tonka. What I didn’t get at all on my first wear was cherry, but as I wore this more often, I do get a cherry-tobacco-esque tinge; like in Parfums de Marly Herod, but way more gourmand overall.
It comes across a bit smokey and at times I get wafts that remind me of a suede leather as well, so it’s on the darker side without feeling overly heavy.
The tea used here is a black tea, which honestly I can’t say I detect much in the fragrance. More so that smokiness I mentioned that I can picture coming off a cup of tea. The actual tea that accompanies this scent is also heavily caramelized and that caramel is definitely the main player to my nose in the fragrance.
If you like gourmand scents, Spontaneous Generosity will likely not disappoint you.
