Soma is the real gourmand of the 2022 Noeme trio (my favorite Aman being a floral vanilla & Khalil being a cardamom bomb).
Soma is likely the most mass appealing between them and if you like gourmands, sweet ambers and boozy scents, you should read on.
I might have to revisit this sample soon, because I couldn’t get a good grasp on the opening. It was nice and sweet, but nothing jumped out at me. I’m notoriously bad at picking up boozy notes, so maybe I went noseblind early on. That being said, it was a solid gourmand scent with a rich, syrupy core.
It wasn’t until 1-2 hours in that chocolate really started to stand out for me. At first a darker, chocolate-sauce type of chocolate, but later it became more of a drier skin scent. I guess the heliotrope added a lighter, powdery touch. It’s definitely a good mix of an amber accord and edible.
Occasionally I get wafts of the booziness in the drydown as well, so I probably just missed it in the opening. On my first time wearing it, I didn’t notice any suede or leathery tinge though.
Performance-wise; longevity is good, but on my first impression, Soma was much more subtle and closer to the skin than either Anam or Khalil. I applied it last, with Anam and Khalil already in the drydown, but it was completely overpowered, which is probably why my impression is more vague than usual. Either way, it’s a nice fragrance.
