Silvr Lightning has a semi-green, airy, but rain-like scent, similar to Etat Libre D’Orange’s Hermann or Nakuna’s Avanto. In short; I’d say the Hermann is more experimental, a more lifelike after rain scent with a plastic or rubbery hint, Avanto is fresher and more ‘neutral’, almost cucumber like. Silvr Lightning leans more into the surrounding notes, has the most pronounced smell and it’s an easy-going one, even if you don’t like greener fragrances.
The first thing that I pictured was a pink rose; it’s not listed, but to me this mainly smells like wet rose peddles, maybe even slightly jammy or fruity, like raspberry. The only fruit listed is blackcurrant, so I guess that’s the main thing that I’m getting. This can make it lean feminine for some men, but I think it’s perfectly unisex. The aldehydes give it a very clean smell and there’s iris, but there is some pink pepper and cardamom as well; it’s not at all your average laundry detergent scent, although that vibe is hidden underneath. Lastly, there’s a tea note, but it’s more of a lighter, watery, transparent tea in my mind.
It’s absolutely gorgeous. From of the three So Scent fragrances that I’ve tried so far, this one jumped out for me and when compared to the aforementioned Hermann or Avanto, this is the one that suits me most (and it’s the best performing one easily). What it comes down to is the price; at $80 for 15ml, this is really expensive per ml, so whether or not it’s full-bottle worthy depends on your budget…the scent definitely is for me.
