Silver Man eluded me for a long time, but because my brother had a bottle, I was able to review it and I’m glad that I did.
Silver Man was a really nice surprise to me. I had this idea in my mind that this would be a more classical fougere fragrance. Which is to say, this smells more modern and would potentially suit a broader audience than I expected. It has a masculine-leaning cologne essence for sure, but it’s surprisingly fruity and floral as well.
To me this comes across clean and soapy. There are some heavier, slightly spicy feeling elements in the base, but it’s mostly a shampoo-like experience for me. This feeling is boasted by the light tropical tinge from the ylang-ylang, which also seems to add a bit of sweetness together with the heliotrope.
It has a green tinge throughout with a bit of sparkling texture in the opening, making up the cologne chunk of the experience. As it dries down, it becomes very floral and soft. I enjoyed it a lot, albeit it a bit too green for my usual taste. I would still go for Reflection Man or Reflection 45 as a clean, masculine-leaning Amouage, but Silver Man is a great, lesser talked about, option.
