‘Silver Ceremony is undoubtedly the most immediately accessible of the three. The fragrance opens with a crisp bergamot, supported by ginger, before gaining structure with cedar and oud. On the skin, this results in a fresh, classic scent in the best sense of the word, with that clean and luminous citrus sensation associated with certain great men’s classics (at times, it evokes the hesperidic elegance of a Cerruti 1881… but with much more depth). More complex than it first appears, Silver Ceremony boasts a beautiful balance. The oud wood doesn’t overpower the opening; instead, it lends a drier, more contemporary base. It’s probably the most “everyday” fragrance in the collection, but by no means the most ordinary.
