‘Siberia, when we hear the name of this wild and beautiful place, it conjures up thoughts of white snowy winters. With this pure bright image in our minds, this is a fruit floral fragrance built on white floral accords , and relates to the white Siberian Rose. The fragrance opens with fruity spicy top note composed of cinnamon, juniper, pear and pink pepper, and then the floral journey, the personality of the fragrance, passes through a white heart note with tuberose, white rose, ylang-ylang and a rich touch of leather which evokes memories of the wild life of Siberia, with the leather making this fragrance so natural and sensual. Siberian Rose is a very long-lasting fragrance, the longevity comes from a powerful base note that is a harmonious collection of patchouli, amber and moss.’ – Fragrance Du Bois

Up top you get quite a bright opening with juniper and pear, although I’m not sure if I get pear per se, or if it’s just the ylang-ylang/tuberose already coming through. I definitely get a tuberose and a rose most prominently throughout most of the wear, with a slight hint of a soft leather.

It’s sweet as well; there’s cinnamon, a fruity sweetness and I think there’s quite a bit of vanilla/benzoin or something in that direction in the amber accord, because it almost feels like the florals are caramelized. As with most Fragrance Du Bois, I really love the texture. It’s milky smooth, which combined with the scent makes me think of a scented lotion. It also makes this fragrance lean quite traditionally feminine, slightly more so than Oud Jaune Intense, which shares some similarities (and is the one that I slightly prefer).

I think the name Siberian Rose can be quite misleading, because it speaks of white snow, but to my nose white florals smell tropical and this feels more like a fragrance for a sunny day to me. It has enough body and richness to be more than a Summer scent, but I don’t get the connection with snow or Siberia at all. It is versatile and I think it will be a crowd-pleaser.
