In my previous testing of Jijide, I picked out some more eccentric fragrances, such as Riso and Grano. Both are very intriguing, but not the most comforting or easy to pull off for me personally.
Now I wore Shao Guan and Xan Hai side by side, both are more ‘pretty’, conventional, yet modern scents. Shao Guan being the brighter and sharper one.
Piercing and lovely citrusses dominate the opening. Moving into flowers, with the heavier notes never really overtaking (patchouli, warm spices). This fragrance remains citrussy floral on my skin.
As mentioned, mondern, slick, stylish. Maybe even a tad clinical and clean as the texture feels very ozonic and musky. The red/pink florals come across more like they’re cut and placed into a design vase in a white walled art gallery, rather than in a forest. Flanked constantly by this sharp, but subtle enough grapefruit/citrus accord.
Not the most exciting fragrance from the house, even based on my limited testing at the time of writing, but a beautiful one and one that I’d be more likely to actually wear.
