‘Gentle breezes, scorching sand and mesmerising artisanal carpets. Serendipity vividly portrays the fascinating encounters and discoveries during an eye-opening journey across the Silk Road. A rich melange of nutmeg and saffron sits lightly atop of the sandalwood Mysore, sparking curiosity with an element of surprise. Hints of clove echo the starting scents of exotic spices while a touch of patchouli intertwines with sophisticated notes of minerals and leather to channel a mysterious charm.’ – Tobba

I was very intrigued by the notes for this one. Mysore sandalwood & mineral notes seemed like a weird, but interesting combination.

On skin, I mostly get spices. It’s definitely in a leathery direction, with the saffron as well, but it’s not a full on leather. As far as leathers go, it’s more on the woody, almost nutty side.

The mineral notes (in old note breakdowns just ‘salt’ was listed) is definitely an unexpected tinge, but it’s very subtle. This doesn’t wear as an aquatic scent.

I strongly disagree with those saying that this smells anything like Frederic Malle Dries van Noten; aside from some sandalwood in the base, I don’t get any connection between the two. I’d say they have nothing in common.

It’s an interesting one that’s hard to pin point. Very faint, gasoline-like facets from leather, but overall, mostly a spicy, more masculine leaning scent that’s broken up by an airy rose and tiny pinch of briny, saltiness.

Ultimately, I found this one quite hard to pull off.
