Seraglio is not to be mistaken with Seraglio Noir, which is a vastly different scent. I personally did not enjoy Noir, but I absolutely did enjoy Seraglio as is describe here.
Seraglio is described as an orchid oud. Now I’m not too familiar with orchid fragrances, but Seraglio has that creamy, buttery, pasty floral vibe that you can also find in some good tuberose scents.
The opening is a bit acidic (one might even say pissy, although short lived and subtle); there’s a cola tinge and a citrussy spicy kick. As it dries down, the acidity fades, which I when this fragrance shines in my opinion. It is powdery in a way, but more pasty, like powder mixed with liquid. The texture reminds me of something like a Xerjoff Fatal Charme and it’s amazing.
There could be some iris in this and in the later drydown, when the woodiness comes through more, it reminds me of some woody iris scents, albeit it with a reminder of the acidity still lingering. The floral tinge is subtle and so are the indols from the orchid/white florals; it’s not a challenging wear.
Performance is through the roof. This is an extrait the parfum and it outlasts and out projects most of my collection, despite a rather subtle scent profile in the drydown. I think it would make for an awesome layering base with a lot of floral, woody and even some sweeter fragrances as well. It’s pricy at €240/60ml, but for that you get a beautiful unboxing experience. The bottle comes with a puffer sprayer or you can decant in a regular travel atomizer that’s included in the box.
