I had high expecations for Sayat Nova. While absolutely unique and intersting to my nose, it was ultimately not to my taste. It’s peach and rum remind me of fermenting fruit, or the types of alcohol which smell I never enjoyed (think of mulled wines, red wines, ports). It’s smoky throughout. As the fruitiness fades and it becomes more woody, I start to appreciate it more and I can see why people hold it in high regard, but some styles just don’t suit me and Sayat Nova’s is one of them.
