‘Sadayu is a legendary character from Ramayana (Ramakien), Thailand’s most renowned epic. He is depicted as a mighty emerald-green bird, commanding the winds with extraordinary power. Sadayu is known for his unwavering honesty, refusing to lie even when it would be to his advantage. In the tale, Sadayu’s most remarkable story unfolds when he encounters Ravana kidnapping Sita. Determined to save her, Sadayu unleashes a fierce storm to obliterate Ravana’s forces and confronts the demon king directly. His power overwhelms Ravana, forcing him to exhaust all his weapons. Knowing Sadayu’s honest nature, Ravana cunningly inquires about the bird’s weakness. Trusting by nature, Sadayu reveals that only Vishnu or the divine ring of Shiva, which Sita wore, could defeat him. Ravana seizes the opportunity, hurling the ring at Sadayu, striking him down. Mortally wounded, Sadayu uses his last strength to deliver the ring and news of Sita’s abduction to Rama before passing away. The inspiration behind our fragrance lies not solely in Sadayu’s story but in the image of this majestic emerald bird and its ability to command the wind. We interpreted this essence into a modern Fougere fragrance with refreshing green undertones. The fragrance opens with the cool and refreshing blend of Spearmint and Bergamot, seamlessly transitioning into the distinct aroma of Holy Basil. This herb, cherished for its unique scent, holds a deeper significance in Indian culture. Holy Basil, or Tulsi, is regarded as a sacred plant believed to possess the power to protect against evil forces and purify the surroundings. This profound symbolism enhances its role in the composition, making it more than just an aromatic note. The heart of the fragrance is further enriched with the warm, spicy, and slightly sweet nuances of Myrrh, lending a harmonious depth that connects tradition with timeless elegance. The fragrance’s base is elegantly anchored by Ambroxan and Coumarin, working harmoniously to create a well-rounded and memorable finish.
