I’ve been enjoying trying out the house of The Harmonist. While Moon Glory is my favorite, their other offerings are mostly excellent as well. Point in case, Royal Earth. Although the later released Royal Earth Parfum is even better in my opinion.
As a fervent lover of iris in all sorts and shapes, it’s always a joy to experience more of them and in particular, more different styles of them. Royal Earth isn’t eccentric or way out of the norm, but it wiggles itself between a lot of other iris scents and still remains relatively unique.
The opening is on the greener, slightly rooty and almost palpable side, I think with the angelica playing a big role. The ‘earth’ moniker is most suitable to this face of the wear.
There’s a fresher, cleaner and brighter aspect to it as well and I think as it dries it goes more into the cleaner direction. Somehow, clean and warm at the same time. And perfectly unisex. All in all it’s super versatile and inoffensive, in part also because it wears close to the skin.
