Rose D’Encens is a nice take on a heavier rose with a smoky edge from the incense. It’s an extrait the parfum, so it feels like a thick, enveloping cloud.

The rose itself is on the darker side; I picture it as dark red, but it’s warm and soft. There’s a lot of sweetness, that at first feels very fruity (there’s raspberry and blackcurrant) and later on turns into vanilla and tonka. As with most of the Lorga line, it has this gourmand-ish touch that makes it almost edible and very addicting.

It’s balanced out a lot in Rose D’Encense with the incense and the rose, even though the rose isn’t as clearly front and center as it is in many otherwise similar fragrances and if you don’t love rose, you could still give this a chance.
