I finally had a chance to get my nose properly on Dusita, and when asked for a PR collaboration, I figured, why not go with the latest release blindly, as rose has been one of my favorites notes anyway. I think I made the right choice as Rosarine stands as one of my favorites from the house.
Rosarine is quite interesting straight from the opening. One of the most oily roses I’ve come across. Oily, slick, sweet, but slightly heady and green as well.
Actually, it feels like a bit of everything. Vibrant, with deep tones in the rose itself recalling more pink hues for me and a jammy texture. But greener, floral tints as well. A bit of citrus and a load of sweetness.
The sweetness is sugary, but I also get a lot of honey from Rosarine. Maybe it’s that tiny hint of headiness, making it feel like a medicinal honey. As it warms up later in the wear, it still feels like a honeyed sweetness, just more cozy.
On one hand Rosarine feels like a rose to recommend to real floral lovers and people who respect quality of ingredients. The oily nature gives it a rich, ‘artisinal’ feeling and this smells like nothing you will find with most of the designer or niche brands around. On the other hand, the sweetness pulls it in an Oud Satin Mood-friendly direction for sure and I can see it putting some more traditionalists off as they tend to avoid this level of sweetness.
I really enjoy it. I love the texture probably even more so than just the scent profile. Perfectly unisex. Based on my minor experiences with the rest of the Dusita line-up, Rosarine is definitely up there with Issara, Melodie D’Amour and Splendiris as releases that speak to me.
