I believe Reflection Man was the second niche fragrance that I ever bought (in 2019, after Parfums de Marly Layton Exclusif). I was instantly hooked and it remains one of my absolute favorite Amouage fragrances and office scents anno 2024.

It’s hard to describe Reflection Man, as I don’t get as much of the powderiness and sweetness from the often referenced Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male DNA as other people seem to do.

For me Reflection starts off bright, with a watery, slightly mineralic white floral opening. It always transports me back to memories of (chlorine filled) swimming pools… and somehow that chlorine tinge never escaped me… nor did it bother me.

As I’ve worn this more often I started seeing more of a mineralic spicy touch in Reflection Man. At times reminding me a little bit of the immortelle used in Marc-Antoine & Quentin Bisch’s masterpiece Ganymede. The drydown of Reflection Man grows ever more masculine on my skin. The later released Reflection 45 gets into that more masculine, almost nutty and more woody drydown much faster.

To me this is a confidence booster. If I have a serious meeting at the office, Reflection Man is my number one go-to choice. Classy, but versatile.
