‘A vibrant male elixir, RedColorado reconnects men to their instincts, boosting their power and self-confidence. This noble woody, leathery and spicy eau de parfum is nestled in a flamboyant passion red colour, evoking the mythical landscapes of the Great American West.’ – Micallef
Unfortunately, after Gntonic being quite the disappointment for me, I went on to test a Micallef that was set up to be facing a tough challenge from the start.
Leather, but in spicy, earthy way. The smoked facets of the woods and general harshness really are up front in this fragrance. It’s not the loudest, so that helps, but it’s still a demanding wear if you’re not seriously into this type of woody-leather scent.
The only fresh facets come from the green cypress or pine scents, recalling retro men’s shower gels a little bit. But ultimately the spicy, fiera woody and leathery core dominates all.
RedColorado is often compared to Amouage Interlude Man (which I also never liked) and that is the general direction you should indeed think of, even though they do not feel quite the same. I’ll leave my thoughts to this one wearing I’m afraid.
