I was not sure if I was going to like this (and it’s not a favorite from the brand for me so far), but it had such an interesting combination of notes that I had to try it. And I do think it is interesting.
Proposal is a very fruity scent in the first minutes; lychee, blackcurrant, bergamot and dried fruits are listed. It doesn’t have as much of a lychee scent as their Beautiful & Wild I think, maybe leaning towards the blackcurrant, berry-fruitiness more.
What confused me a bit in the note breakdown (even after smelling) is the combination with almond. This is almond, but also heliotrope, iris and white musk and somehow after the initial strong fruity blast, it turns into a powdery cleaner (semi-sweet) scent.
It’s truly a mixed bag; one moment I think of an almond cookie, one moment of clean linen and another of berries. After a while, the clean element completely takes over and it most closely reminds me of a certain brand of dryer sheets that we have in the Netherlands.
Maybe it’s because of the uncommon combination of scents, but to my nose this one smells the least natural of the 5 fragrances I’ve tried from HFC at the time of writing.
Interesting, but not a fragrance that I would seek out per se.
