Pink Me Up is part of the 2022 duo alongside Noir By Night. Long story short; I would probably prefer to wear Noir By Night, but I think Pink Me Up nails the expectations a lot more and I predict this fragrance will be a huge success.
While I found Noir By Night not dark, nor did I get the caviar note, Pink Me Up is very pink and you can easily picture something champagne-like (with some imagination).
Straight away it’s fizzy, bright and fruity. Oh, and very sweet. It’s attention grabbing in its sparkling opening. The fruitiness fits in with the champagne idea; it’s not a thick fruit juice or zest, rather an acidic, watery and tart fruitiness with blackberry being listed as the main player. It’s refreshing, but already sweet.
That’s pretty much what I get; sweet, tart sparkling fruity lemonade; no booze. The drydown mixes in a ‘make-up’ iris that I enjoy, and muskiness. About as traditionally feminine as you will come across and the huge dose of sweetness pulls it in a very casual, youthful direction, to the point where I would probably not wear Pink Me Up myself, but I do think this will wear rather sexy and playful on women.
There are no big surprises here; I think both the new Atelier Des Ors play it quite safe scent-wise and lean on their presentation… Which worked like a charm. A bunch of people messaged me that they would love to have Pink Me Up, even before smelling it. I say that with no judgement; I’d pay a premium over a fruity women’s designer release for this presentation as well, but I do think that’s what sets Pink Me Up apart more than anything else.
