‘As soft and luxurious as its name would suggest, Petales de Cashmere exudes an air of comfort and warmth. Mandarin and grapefruit top notes meld into exotic jasmine, saffron and caraway, like the velvety touch of soft petals on a warm, summer’s day. Depth is provided in the base with hints of musk and sandalwood, accompanied by the mystical touch of deliciously resinous frankincense’- Fragrance du Bois
Petales de Cashmere won’t be joining the ranks in my top 5 Fragrance du Bois, but I really enjoyed it.
It lists mandarin and grapefruit as far as fruits go, but to my nose this has more of a peach or apricot scent. There’s jasmine, but for a jasmine scent it’s very sweet. Next to the jasmine there’s violet and both are prominent, but soft at the same time.
The sweetness feels resinous and ever so slightly smokey. I assume the frankincense has some doing in that. In the drydown this doesn’t change all that much as far as I could tell. The citrus from the opening has of course lost the brightness and overall it’s even more creamy and sweet, almost sugary, like a fruity Turkish Delight.
I’m not too familiar with this scent profile as it leans pretty far traditionally feminine.
