Paula’s Ibiza (not to be confused with Paula’s Ibiza: Eclectic) is a fun fragrance, with an even more fun bottle (or in my case, travel atomizer). This is a lovely fragrance, albeit a slightly different one from what I was expecting.
What I get most from this fragrance is the clean, watery/washed outside of a fruit. It’s not overly juicy, it’s not thick or creamy and the fruitiness and sweetness are both contained pretty well. Which means, I like it more.
It also means that I don’t necessarily get much of the mandarin here and the sun-tan lotion vibe from the coconut and frangipani is there, but (luckily) not overpowering everything. Instead, I have to agree with Miguel Matos’ review on this fragrance and say that I mostly get the scent of fig in Paula’s Ibiza. Now for Miguel, that meant a disappointing experience, for me, I probably prefer it, but I also didn’t have expectations going into reviewing this scent. Instead I stumbled upon it and was surprised to find out that a ‘unlisted’ fig seems to be stealing the show here.
It has the more subtle fruitiness and oily texture of the fig, mixed with some additional tropical-tinges, making it a fun, but at the same time, rather understated and mature (for this style of fragrance) scent.
