‘A lavish and erotic leathery rose fragrance with tangy fruity and almost candy like aroma. Iced with smoky leather notes that invokes sensuality with hints of syrupy caramel, vanilla, musk and amber.’ – Oman Luxury
Paramour is a sweet and slightly fresh leather. In the opening it’s rather fruity, with raspberry and grapefruit. There’s also a lot of saffron, yet the combination does not smell like Tuscan Leather. A closer comparison would be Memo Irish Leather or Argos Brivido Della Caccia.
Almost instantly it starts to get sweet. After a couple of wears, I get the caramel/vanilla-like quality a little bit more, but it’s mostly cotton candy/sugary and almost sharp. I pick up on the greenish, mossy undertones more with every wear, but the leather and sweetness overpower.
No matter how hard I look, this doesn’t smell floral at all to me, despite listing lily, jasmine and rose.
To me it feels like a cooler fragrance, despite the sweetness. It’s not a warm, comforting smooth leather, but more so a sharper and very dry leather fragrance.
The performance is just right for me; it’s not a beast, but I think that saves it from becoming cloyingly sweet or hard to wear. It is however, strong enough to last a good part of your day, while withstanding the cold weather. Sweeter than I would ideally see it, but overall a solid release.
