Papavero Nero is a rose-oud that won’t surprise most readers. It smells good (probably better than the other two that I’ve tried from Jardins de Parfums quality-wise to me), but it’s been done before.

It’s a cleaner, saffrony-leather hidden underneath a rose that becomes a tad soapy, with a conventional, safe oud, making it accessible. Nero is being compared to Roja Parfums Amber Aoud, but don’t expect anything near that kind of quality here. It’s nice, but generic in quality and scent.
