Overture Man was a bit too much for me, but a great creation. I think Overture Woman is not all that much lighter, but somewhat easier to pull off for me than Overture Man (with a completely different scent however).
It does not have the animalic tinge, but instead, there’s a strong saffron, leathery vibe straight away. In the store, I imagined it to be brighter, but on skin the leather really comes out.
That being said, it’s an absolutely beautiful leather that’s drenched in a thick syrupy and sweet rose. It’s like a rose jam with a warm, melted apple brandy scent.
It smells familiar, but at the same time elevated. It definitely smells like a Middle Eastern inspired sweet rose, saffron, oud-like (there’s no oud here though) scent; Im thinking mostly of Xerjoff More Than Words.
The leather is interesting; almost latexy or plasticy, but surprisingly for me, not in a bad way. It could be the resins creating an almost balsamic, slick quality. It tones down quite a bit as it dries too and the brighter notes and rose really shine.
As with Overture Man; this is for a more mature audience. 100% unisex for sure and I would pick Woman over Man with the Overture releases for myself.
