Then comes the night, with volutes of frankincense, both woody and resinous, becoming more dense, warmer and darker. At dawn, we finally find ourselves laying on a velvety bed of leather, musk and amber…’ – Superfumista

After smelling this one on paper twice, I was quite surprised by how it wore on skin. Earthy, dry woodiness from patchouli, that comes through almost immediately on my skin, whereas on paper it felt more floral and easy going.

I get a a lot of medicinal honeyed sweetness from frankincense, but it’s not overly sweet overall. It feels like an underground cave to me, not your average dry, but thin, ethereal air. A slight animalic and spicy tinge. This all definitely overtakes the ‘freshness of citrus notes’, which I have a hard time smelling in Our Blurry Note. That’s not to say that it is dark, but it does not have much acidity in a citrus sense on my skin, more so in the grating acidity from the musky and civet side.

Overall, quite a unique scent that I would mostly reference for frankincense and patchouli lovers.
