I usually wouldn’t share thoughts on a fragrance that I haven’t worn on skin, but given that Oud Velvet Mood has been discontinued for quite a while and hard to find these days, I figured it was worth sharing my initial impression. A friend brought a bottle of this to a fragrance meet-up, so I had a chance to test it on paper.

And frankly, I did not enjoy it at all in that impression from a test strip. If Oud Silk Mood is a step more mature and less sweet and loud from Oud Satin Mood, then it feels like Oud Velvet Mood is another two steps further away from Oud Satin Mood. It’s mature and very dry in texture. Like a rough suede. Not as mass appealing and as someone who isn’t the biggest fan of leather scents, I’m confident that this will go too leathery to be a winner for my taste.
