‘Back by popular demand, Oud Opulente 2 is a reimagined and meticulously improved interpretation of the original composition—maintaining its signature essence while elevating its depth, richness, and complexity. The original featured a single Orris Absolute with a 12% irones level. In Oud Opulente 2, that has expanded to a trio of Orris Absolutes: the original Iris germanica at 12%, an additional Iris germanica at 24%, and Iris pallida at 8%—creating a multifaceted orris accord with increased powderiness, elegance, and depth. The original Wild Australian Sandalwood is now complemented by Organic Australian Sandalwood, enhancing the creamy, woody base with added smoothness and nuance. Bulgarian Rose is now supported by two exquisite additions: Indian Rose Ghulab and Rose Isparta, resulting in a fuller, more textured rose heart. Egyptian Jasmine Concrete is paired with Jasmine Absolute, enriching the floral profile with greater clarity and radiance. Assam Oud has been increased by 40%, while Laos Oud has been enhanced by 20%, adding greater weight, warmth, and intensity to the oud core. The Cambodi Koh Kong has also been replaced with a superior quality variant, elevating the overall oud presence. The result is a fragrance that retains the soul of the original Oud Opulente, but with a more luxurious, layered, and refined expression of its key notes—offering a deeper, richer olfactory experience.’ – LHParfums

I’d smelled some Lana & Hadi before via a friend and the brand kindly sent over samples to try the entire collection. After testing on paper, I picked 5 favorites to wear on skin and this was one of them.
Along with SQ Bakhoor Absolute, Oud Opulente 2 is one that I’d like to wear again. I really liked it on paper; on skin, the opening was a bit much for me, but after a while, it seems to become brighter again. I’d almost written it off as one of my favorites in the collection, but several hours in, I was drawn to it, perhaps even more so than to my other favorites (Whispers Of The Desert or Celeste Coffee).
Very punchy and in-your-face, but not overly skanky. It has a nice brightness, like a cola-esque spicy-amber core. The heaviness comes from the leathery direction for me, but the rosy-bright counterpart works to keep in enough levity. What also really works is the smoothness and depth, with the iris and sandalwood providing a textural experience that instantly makes Oud Opulent 2 feel elevated over anything you’ll be able to find in mass marketed perfumery; I think from the Lana & Hadi collection, it may feel the most expensive and opulent, as the name predicted.
Sweet; ambery, almost chocolate-tinged. There’s a smokiness and leathery base, but it’s quite tasty. I wouldn’t go as far as calling it a gourmand (it’s a lot more traditional than Celeste Coffee for example, but I do think that people with a sweeter taste, that also like edgy and artisinal may find it here, especially in the opening.
As a big iris lover, looking at the notes, I did wish for the actual scent of iris to come through more prominently; to my nose, that wasn’t really the case.
In the middle of the wear, the earthiness starts to take over and the ‘issue’ that I often find in artisinal perfumes working with these types of rich ingredients arises (probably mostly with Oud Opulente in this collection); where I find that a lot of the ingredients get lost in a general dense earthiness in the base. That being said, quite an experience, and as mentioned, several hours into the wear, I was drawn back into it again, more and more. Perhaps a bit too much for my liking, but among my favorites overall.
