I went in without any expectations, besides hearing that it’s a weird name for this fragrance, and that’s 100% correct.
This has little to do with any form of oud that I can image. Instead, this opens exactly like almond paste to my nose. Followed by more spices added, with almond still being the main player.
The only ‘oud’ I can reference here is Roja Parfums Sweetie Aoud, but Oud Nude is significantly sweeter, more gourmand. Kind of what I expected Sweetie Aoud to be before smelling it.
The most compared fragrance to Oud Nude is Casamorati Bouquet Ideale, which I also have. Very similar indeed, although Bouquet Ideale is more sparkling, more spicy (cinnamon especially), whereas this is more almond.
Another facet I get here is a cherry tobacco-esque scent. Most notably this takes me back to State Of Mind Spontaneous Generosity.
So it’s a mix of pretty common styles, but it’s very well done and pleasant. Perfectly unisex. Sure to be one of the best sellers among the newer Guerlains (aside from the price point holding it back), but it won’t appeal to those in search for a serious oud fragrance from Guerlain. Instead, gourmand lovers should keep an eye out for this one.
