Oud Du Jour is a more fruity take on what I perceive as the ‘default’ rose oud combination. My benchmark for that style is Dior Oud Ispahan and there are similarities here, however Oud Du Jour is much lighter and more fruity, with an added saffron touch.
The saffron and raspberry are both prominent, so it triggers memories of Tuscan Leather, however the leather is replaced by a nice woody scent. The woodiness reminds me a bit of Oud Satin Mood. The rose here is nice and not too dark, so it doesn’t overpower the composition.
What really strikes me is the longevity of the fruitiness. It’s plum and raspberry, but after a while, I can’t really distinguish them; it’s a ‘red’ fruit mix, with a hint of acidity and sweet, but not overly so (definitely not like Oud Satin Mood in that regard).
