‘Named because we’ve used sandalwood, rose and neroli, all to balance the bright greenness of galbanum – this month’s theme – so that its light shines on all materials surrounding it, rather than overwhelming our noses with intense extract of leaf. Personally, I was not a big fan of galbanum, used in mid 20th Century fragrances to smack people over the head with plant sap, despite their being acclaimed as masterpieces. I set myself a challenge to make a vintage style fragrance, powdered rather than dominated by galbanum’s unmistakable force. I like it now.’ – 4160 Tuesdays
