The very first time I ever ordered samples when I started my fragrance journey, I accidentally ordered Tom Ford’s Noir instead of Noir de Noir and I was very disappointed. Noir had nothing for me (although I really like Noir Extreme). Noir de Noir however, is a completely different animal.

Noir de Noir opens with a familiar rose combination but the Tom Ford takes a darker, richer, slightly more exciting turn. There’s sweetness in Noir de Noir, but it’s a dark chocolate, almost bitter or earthy sweetness, and not a more familiar candy like sweetness or even a vanilla. You won’t confuse it for Montale Intense Cafe.

It’s arguably one of the best Tom Ford creations to date.
