‘The magical and culturally diverse ancient city of Ninawa, or the “Gate of the East” extended from Babylon to Ur, and was a major crossroads of the world’s richest civilizations. Through it passed the riches of the enchanting East, Bound to the West, A rainbow of spices, Woods, Textiles, With iris flowers welcoming all its visitors, embarking upon their caravan journey….’ – Jovoy
When I smelled all the Soul of Makeen fragrance at an event, from a test strip, Ninawa was one of the standouts to me. I have to say, it’s a bit too much for me on skin.
Essentially, this is an iris and suede-like scent to me. Like a cashmeran mix of suede and wood. This can be a bit sharp, dry and very powdery. Quite sweet, but in an iris, rooty way. Slightly muddy as well. As mentioned, it became a bit too much for me, too palpable; the dryness and projection is something that I felt I could taste in my mouth during the wear. For me personally, surprisingly the most demanding wear from this brand, albeit one that seems to be a crowd favorite.
