‘From the Muskara Collection, this perfume was created to reproduce the scent of Leather through a vegetal reproduction of the elements that make up its fragrant spectrum.’ – Fueguia 1833
I’ve smelled a couple from this brand (in stores only) before and frankly; those didn’t make any impression on me. I’ve heard a lot of praise for this brand and I have no doubt that they have more interesting things in their arsinal, than the store I saw them in provided. So here’s to my first actual wearing of a Fueguia.
Muskara Cuero has a dense, but not dry tobacco vibe to me, like old pipe tobacco. Slightly rancid, albeit not in an unpleasant way. It does get leathery quick too, but this continues to balance the Definitely a leather too and one that’s not for the faint of heart. Smoky, with tiny hints of ‘barbecue’. A more artisinal and mature take on the DNA.
Barnyardy, but not in a fecal ‘oudy’ manner. Just raw nature comes through in this scent. Stylistically reminding me perhaps a bit of the lovely Robert Greco Rauque, as far as potential target audience.
After a couple of hours, I like this most. It loses the daring tinge, but remains a warm, sweet mix of tobacco and leather to me. Feeling very high quality (as is reflected in the price as well); more along the lines of an Areej Le Dore than a Parfums de Marly, but definitely not the easiest to pull off in my opinion. Not one that I would consider wearing, aside from testing.
