Starting 2024, select stores around the world and the Ormonde Jayne main store will have it available from January 18th in limited quantities. Every year a new batch with different color bottles will be made available that way.
I have not tried Montabaco Ivoire, but Rio has replaced it as the Harrods exclusive. They don’t share the same notes as far as I’m aware.
Note that I’ve only smelled this one in store; usually I only post thoughts after more thorough testing, but given the limited availability, I figured anything is better than nothing.
From the store exclusive Montabaco flankers, Rio was easily the one that stood out the most (albeit not my favorite). A big vibrant fruity fragrance. I didn’t get much of the Montabaco DNA connection on the first impression. Instead, this is a more playful, more feminine-geared take, with fruits like pineapple and mango taking center stage.
Sweet, but not cloying, yet definitely aimed at a different target audience in my opinion. Performance wise this took over the room a lot more than any of the other Montabaco’s.
A fun release that would surprise me if it won’t become the best seller from these flankers the coming year.
