I haven’t been the biggest fan of the work of Ramon Monegal unfortunately (their fresher and more playful ones are fun though, but especially their older releases do not work for me). From the more substantial fragrances, Mon Patchouly was one I enjoyed the most I think, although I don’t love it.
Funny enough, I’m not sure how much patchouli I get from Mon Patchouly. I get more of a (slightly dirty) jasmine here on first impression. It’s thick and ever so slightly fecal or barnyardy, which I could appreciate in this dosage.
There is a brighter edge as well and a greener oakmoss tinge. Quite earthy at first, but sweeter after a while. Definitely interesting and a ‘big’ fragrance, lacking some subtlety.
