Moiré de Kalha is an excellent take on an oud-rose-patchouli scent. The style is overdone in my opinion, but this one doesn’t feel redundant per se and the quality seems absolutely top-notch.
It has a great opening with some acidity, a booziness and the vanilla smells like a caramel syrup to my nose. The rose is wet and dewy, whereas the woods and patchouli have the syrupy, chocolate quality.
Overall, Moiré de Kalha feels opulent, thick and at the same time projecting well. My favorite Orens on first impression in store was Serr D’Eden, but after sampling that and Moiré de Kalhan, I think the latter might take the cake. Serr D’Eden feels a bit more unique, but there’s something about the way the sweetness is done in this oud rose scent, that I really appreciate.
