Milky Dragon is my first dive into the work of Isabelle Larignon (brand and perfumer).
Straight from the opening, Milky Dragon is a strong like for me. You get the tea vibe clearly, with the florals, but it’s also remarkably sweet and creamy. Butter, hazelnut, plum jam and fig are listed and that should give you an idea.
It reminds me a tiny bit of Frassai’s Blondine, which also has butter as a note, but here dipped into a fresh green tea. Albeit it very briefly, because I think the buttery sweetness fades rather quickly.
And it does get quite green on my skin, but in a sweet way (kind of like ambroxan). Now I had to look up buchu, which turns out to be a leaf/herb that’s described among other things as: ‘green, minty, sweet, berry with nuances of peach and apricot. And I have to say that perfectly describes the scent of Milky Dragon to me.
