As someone who does like a milky, lactonic quality in fragrances, Commodity’s Milk has been on my radar since it launched. I finally got to try the Milk+ (Bold) version and I have to be honest and say I was mostly disappointed. I am still curious to try the other two versions of Milk, but this, pretty harsh woodier take is not to my liking.
Cashmeran is overdosed in this composition, causing that typical muddy, wet cardboard vibe with earthy tones that I don’t enjoy on my skin. The actual scent of milkiness fades instantly, making way for a sharp, woody or paper scent with a hint of milk.
You do get a growing sweetness, that is welcome to combat the earthiness and starker, dry side. I find the sweetness to be a rather generic, designer-like tonka bean. This does add back some of the milky feeling to the fragrance, but I can’t get over the cashmeran overpowering it in the air.
