‘The first impression is luminous: sparkling Bergamot, radiant and citrus-bright, fused with the warmth of Gurjum balsam and the creamy allure of Tuberose. These notes glitter like sunlight catching on molten metal—bright, intoxicating, and impossible to ignore. It is the moment of Midas’s wish, the thrill of touching glory for the first time. This opening is dazzling. Wear it on the skin, and it feels like gilded light itself, luminous and expansive. Yet beneath the brilliance, there is already a warmth, a shadow—a sign that desire, once ignited, carries its own weight. From light, we descend into richness. The heart of Midas Touch blooms with Rose—timeless, opulent, eternal. Beside it lies Osmanthus, fruity and nectar-like, lending a sensual glow. But it is the Leather and Cistus Labdanum that define this stage: deep, resinous, and unyielding. Here lies the intoxicating pull of desire, no longer innocent, no longer bright. The leather evokes luxury worn soft with use—seductive, tactile. The labdanum is weight incarnate, resinous and shadowed. Together, they embody the cost of Midas’s wish: pleasure entangled with danger, beauty inseparable from loss. This heart stage is where Midas Touch intoxicates. It does not simply please—it ensnares. Finally, the fragrance descends into permanence. Here, Patchouli reigns, earthy and grounding. Nagarmota adds smoke and depth, conjuring the dark echo of something eternal. Benzoin Siam glows with golden warmth, sweet and resinous, while Oud crowns the composition with rare, unmistakable majesty. This is the foundation, the dry-down that lingers like a story etched into marble or a legend whispered through centuries. It is the echo of Midas himself—both king and cautionary tale (…) There are moments when the air itself seems charged with destiny—when the turn of the season brings not only falling leaves, but revelations wrapped in light. On October 30th, Argos Fragrances releases its newest masterpiece: Midas Touch, Artist Series X. A fragrance that shimmers with temptation, gilded with history, and dripping in myth, Midas Touch is more than perfume. It is a mirror of human desire—our longing for beauty, our hunger for permanence, our willingness to risk it all for a glimpse of something eternal. The legend of Midas is ancient, yet ever relevant. A king blessed—or cursed—by the power to turn all he touched into gold. At first, it was ecstasy: cups brimmed with shining treasure, halls glittered with untold wealth. But soon, the glory soured. His food hardened into metal. His wine froze into lifeless gleam. Even the soft touch of his beloved daughter transformed her into cold statue, her warmth forever lost. The gift that promised greatness became unbearable grief. Gold, that eternal symbol of beauty and fortune, became a prison of glittering silence. Midas teaches us that desire, when unchecked, can consume. That beauty, when hoarded, can destroy. And yet—there is allure in the risk. Even today, centuries later, we still find ourselves drawn to the brilliance of gold, to the shimmer that blinds yet beckons. Argos Fragrances has taken this paradox and distilled it into a scent: radiant, intoxicating, and unforgettable. Midas Touch is not a warning—it is a challenge. The Artist Series of Argos Fragrances exists at the intersection of perfumery and fine art. For Midas Touch, the muse is Johann Georg Platzer, the Austrian Rococo painter known for his ornate depictions of gods, goddesses, and the excesses of mythological grandeur. His canvases blaze with chiaroscuro drama—light clashing with shadow, radiance spilling over mortal form. Midas Touch, then, is not merely a perfume—it is a Platzer painting brought to life. Where his brush layered light upon canvas, Argos layers note upon note, crafting an olfactory chiaroscuro: radiant top notes, intoxicating heart, and a base that smolders like ancient gold. Every Argos creation is a narrative, a structure built with precision and poetry. Midas Touch is no exception. Its architecture is deliberate, its every layer a reflection of the Midas story—light turning heavy, desire curdling into weight, beauty settling into permanence.’ – Argos
