MEM was my introduction to Bogue and it’s an interesting one for sure.
Straight away I had a clear scent memory to Potter’s Original lozenges that my grandfather always used to carry. It’s a liquorice-esque scent with some sweetness and a minty, anise-like tinge. I would never seek out this scentprofile myself, but I appreciated it more and more, especially the combination with the mint. It’s somehow dark and refreshing (sparkling lavender) at the same time.
As it dried down it goes into more of a floral, aromatic fougere, dark green woody scent. It’s a bit earthy, a bit rough, but executed in a smooth styling.
Adding to the liquorice vibe I think is the slight saltiness from the ambergris, creating a salmiak vibe.
Not for me, but definitely an interesting and artisinal creation.
