Amouage’ Lyric duo is great example of why gender marketing can be deceiving. Lyric Woman is a darker, more daring scent than Lyric Man and I personally like both equally.
Lyric Woman opens with a heavy rose that has an animalic, earthy facet to my nose (especially in older bottles like the one pictured below). It’s slightly fresh and soapy at the same time (cardamom, ginger and ylang ylang).
With this bottle I seem to get more of the oakmoss and patchouli in the base, on top of the sweetness. It’s a bit green and definitely a bit dirty. However, none of it sticks out and it becomes a smooth resinous incense/amber sweet rose on top of sandalwood.
